In the city of Porto, above the Botanical Garden, stands the Campo Alegre residential development, which evokes the bucolic imagery of golden times: of rooms that seem to encompass the world where a whole ceremony of people talking, listening, singing and dancing echoes.

Sensitive to its surroundings, the building, on the first floor, has a dimension that stretches across the plot, trying to establish a closer, more domestic scale to the houses that line Rua de Guilherme Braga. In this section of the building, typologies are proposed that benefit from the relationship with the land, with patios and terraces full of private gardens. They develop in the middle of the courtyard garden and are protected by several common-use rooms dedicated to leisure, sport and culture, which in turn establish a physical and symbolic relationship with the urban front.

On the upper floors, above the social areas, the apartments enjoy balconies designed with views of verdant landscapes, especially to the south, with the Botanical Garden and the Golden River. To the north, the view is equally idyllic over the neighborhoods of villas interspersed with wooded gardens.

The apartments have been designed with compartments for both views: the more intimate spaces, such as the bedrooms, are oriented to the north, while social areas, such as the kitchen with space for informal meals, and the living and dining room, face south, both with balconies. This relationship between the use of both façades is fundamental, allowing the use of the house to be adapted to the seasonal characteristics of the climate.
